As I finish up the Spring 2024 semester, I feel it is appropriate to share a bit about my experience with Music 497 – Introduction to Music Production at UW-Madison.

I thought this class was very effective, I got to get a lot of hands on experience with recording, mixing, and producing music that will be very helpful to me going forward. I especially appreciated the opportunity to both be a performer and the one facilitating recording.

I am proud of my final project, which is a mix of the group-recorded class song for the semester: Mariella by Khruangbin and Leon Bridges. All of the different members of our class contributed to this recording from electric bass to flute, cello, and vocals! After recording we each used the untouched audio files to create out own individual mixes of the song.
