After learning more about music production this semester as part of my coursework, I have become interested in learning works for flute and recorded flutes.
Currently, I am putting together to works by Mary Jane Leach: Sempre Dolens and Dowland’s Tears which are inspired by the lute works of John Dowland. These works are hauntingly beautiful, and they use a composite of many flutes layered over one another to create the final texture.
I hope to post my versions here soon, but in the meantime I highly recommend listening to these lovely versions by other performers.
